This self-portrait, created during my very first watercolor class at the age of 12, captures a joyful moment from my childhood. I depict myself as a spirited three-year-old, sitting in a lawn chair, happily screaming while wearing my grandmother Nanny’s hat during one of her summer visits. Nanny, an artist herself, inspired my creativity and instilled in me a love for art that has persisted throughout my life.

 

Rediscovering this piece has filled me with joy, as it radiates the exuberance and innocence of my younger self. I am proud to showcase it alongside my other works in this exhibition, as it represents the foundation of my artistic journey and my enduring connection to my grandmother's creative spirit.
