Artist Statement
 

In "The Presentation," I capture a moment that embodies the essence of my childhood—a time when the journey to my grandparents' home was a highly anticipated adventure. This piece is a part of a series of paintings called “The Road To”.  

This painting represents the exhilarating approach of the home stretch just outside of Kelowna, where mountains meet lakes and vibrant skies converge, creating a breathtaking vista that felt like a revelation. As a young girl, every curve of the road brought a rush of excitement, and reaching this viewpoint felt like an arrival, a joyous "ah ha" moment. The vastness of the scene unfolds like a warm embrace, reminding me of the love and connection waiting just beyond the horizon.

In this work, I invite viewers to experience that sense of wonder and nostalgia, celebrating the beauty of both the journey and the destination.
